CHAMPIONSHIP SUNDAY

FESTIVAL CITY SHOOTOUT SLAM DUNK CONTEST RULES

​

• Winner receives trophy.

​

• You must be able to actually dunk and be on a AAU or Travel basketball team in order to register for this event . Contestant doesn't have to be on a team whose playing in the tournament.

​

• 6 contestants will be randomly selected from those who register for the contest.

​

• Round 1 – Contestant will have 20 seconds to complete a dunk. If you fail, keep trying for a successful dunk before the clock runs down to 0:00 Top 3 scores will advance to 2nd round.

​

• Round 2 – Contestant will have 25 seconds to complete a dunk. If you fail, keep trying for a successful dunk before the clock runs down to 0:00 Top 2 scores will advance to 3rd round.

​

• Round 3 – Contestant will have 25 seconds to complete a dunk. If you fail, keep trying for a successful dunk before the clock runs down to 0:00 Top scorer will be crowned Champion.

JUDGES

• The judges will score each round.

• A panel of judges will be created and may include some tournament sponsors, tournament staff, referees and/or members of the media

• Each judge will score each round on a scale of 6-10 with 6 (lowest) to 10 (highest).

​

DISQUALIFICATIONS

• Cannot hang on the rim

• Cannot use the rim as leverage to pull yourself up with one hand while dunking with the other

​

NOTE: No Props

​

TIE-BREAKERS

• If the top 2 are tied after 3 rounds, then a tie-breaker round will occur until the tie is broken.

Your score in the tie breaker round stands alone and you cannot use your prior

“best of” scores from earlier .
