Registration/Rosters & Eligibility:

Each team must complete an online registration. You may make changes to your rosters by emailing changes, but email no later than the final deadline, or in person at the opening registration at the facility at registration opening, Saturday morning. After this, rosters will be set and no other players will be eligible. Please include all players’ names, team and grade. All our Southern Basketball Showcase tournaments are grade based with one age exception. The grade you compete in is the grade just completed in the 2019/20 school year. There are no grade or age exceptions. Example, Team A is a 6th grade team and everyone on the team is 12 years old except 1 player who is 13 in the 7th grade. This makes you compete in the 7th grade division. Players cannot compete on two or more teams in the same grade division and cannot play down in a grade that is below the grade just completed. However, a player may compete on two teams in different divisions. Example, a 6th grader can play in the 6th grade division and play up in the 7th grade or high division. Players that graduated to next grade in 2020 are eligible until September 1st. One exception, if the kid is a 12 year old in the 7th grade, then this kid may compete as a 6th grader. Scale of grade/age exceptions are below. Birth certificate has to prove this exception.

Proof of Eligibility:

Coaches must have a school report card, transcript, or a principal letter. Birth certificates are not acceptable. You have to show proof or the player is ineligible until proof is submitted. We will not hold games up while proof is being found. Please have documents with you at all times.

Protest

Protest must be made to the site directors or the Director of Officials by the head coach only. The protest must be made before the game and/or before the end of the game that is in question. Protest fee is $50.00 and must be paid to register the complaint. The fee will be refunded if the objection is sustained. No protest will be recognized by a coach protesting a game, player or team that is not competing in that division. If a player is found ineligible the team will take a forfeit for each game the player has played in. The team may continue in the tournament, without the ineligible player. No protest will be heard regarding referee calls as we do not have instant replay. During protests, both coaches must provide all paperwork for all kids.

Conduct

A coach is responsible for his/her team and their fans conduct. Let’s be professional at all times. A coach that is ejected in a game is eligible to coach the next game but the coach that has been ejected 2 times in the same event will not be allowed to coach for the remainder of the event. A team without a designated coach will forfeit the rest of the tournament. A parent or assistant coach may coach the remainder of the tournament. There are no warnings for fans. A fan that has been ejected from a game may return for the next game only if the site director permits the return. There are NO REFUNDS

COACHES! PARENTS! FANS! Please let the referees call the game and the teams' coaches coach. Keep a cool head and let's remember that this tournament is for the kids. If you are not a coach and/or an assistant for the teams currently playing on the floor, you are not allowed to come to the bench or the floor to help Coaches coach. First time, refs will ask you to leave the bench. Second time, you will be escorted out of the gym by El Dorado's finest.

HOUSE-KEEPING

Coaches, please have your teams clean up after themselves before they leave the benches and the stands. Being clean is a God-given ability that we must promote. Several trashcans will be in the area.

In closing, Have a nice time and enjoy the tournament.

Thanks in advance,

Reginald Holly

Tournament Director
